VEU-200 Universal Electric Igniter

The VEU-200 igniter is designed to ignite industrial powder and gas-generating charges in a sealed PBA when performing perforating and blasting operations in oil and gas wells.

Distinctive features

• a universal 2-in-1 design: as supplied, the igniter has exposed electric wires (for use in VP-type packers), which can be removed if necessary to convert the VEU-200 into a wireless design, allowing it to be used together with packer charges for setting chambers;
• the design allows initiation of the detonators using both direct-current pulse devices (the PULS device) and devices delivering a high-frequency alternating-current pulse (the PVV-A type and also the PULS device);
• significantly higher bridge resistance (100 Ohm) compared to existing analogues ensures compliance with international safety requirements;
• resistance to high-humidity conditions: the sealed design prevents liquid from entering the igniter;
• the value of the safe current and the ability to initiate with a direct-current pulse allow the VEU-200 to be used as part of modern Plug&Perf assemblies with feedback, allowing it to replace existing foreign-made igniters;
• absence of explosive materials in the design — only an igniting composition;
• the ability to be transported together with other dangerous goods compatible with classification code 1.4S, by all modes of transport.
