Z-POWER
Emulsion cartridge explosive
Z-Power is a cartridged emulsion explosive (CEE) in a polyethylene shell, designed for the effective fragmentation of rocks of medium, high, and extremely high strength. It is a concentrated dispersion of aqueous oxidizer solutions in a hydrocarbon medium using structuring additives. High efficiency in breaking rocks of medium and high strength. Excellent water resistance and performance in boreholes with any degree of water content. Suitable for operation in all climatic zones. Reliability and safety during drilling and blasting operations.

Z-POWER CEE with diameters of 90, 110, and 120 mm are used as the main charge for manual and mechanized loading of blastholes and boreholes for blasting medium and high-strength rocks with any degree of water content, as well as sulfide-bearing ores. The initiation of the Z-POWER CEE borehole charge is carried out by intermediate detonators (pentolite boosters weighing not less than 250 g, approved for use in water-filled boreholes, or Z-POWER CEE intermediate detonators with a diameter of 34-70 mm).
Z-POWER (cap-sensitive) is a high-energy cartridged emulsion explosive, which is a mixture of an emulsion matrix with microspheres, enclosed in a durable polyethylene shell. The product has high explosive characteristics, ensuring reliable initiation and stable detonation transfer.
According to TR CU 028/2012, Z-POWER belongs to Class II of non-permitted explosives and is intended for blasting operations on the earth's surface and in underground workings where there is no emission of flammable gases and explosive coal (shale) dust, or where inertization of the face area is applied.
Cartridges with diameters of 34, 50, 70, and 90 mm are used as intermediate detonators when blasting rocks in dry and water-filled conditions. Initiation is carried out using standard blasting accessories: No. 8 detonator cap, electric detonators, non-electric initiation systems, and detonating cord.
| Parameter | Standard values |
|---|---|
| Density, g/cm³ | 1.12 ± 0.03 |
| Unconfined detonation velocity, m/s (not less than) | 4500 |
| Cartridge diameter, mm | 34, 50, 70, 90 |
| Cartridge weight, kg | 0.2, 0.25, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.3 |
Preparation of primers is carried out by inserting a detonator of a non-electric initiation system or an electric detonator into the axial puncture of the cartridge, followed by securing it if necessary. Extended cartridges may be cut into pieces with a length of not less than 200 mm. For cartridges with a diameter of 34–70 mm, it is possible to use a detonating cord with an initiating explosive core load of 10–12 g/m.

• Reliable and powerful charge initiation;
• Stable detonation transfer and increased efficiency of blasting operations;
• Possibility of application in all climatic zones;
• Use with standard initiation systems;
• Excellent water resistance and performance in boreholes with any degree of water content;
